PhoneTea Refund Policy
Overview
This refund policy governs all paid subscriptions and services offered by PhoneTea, including Premium Consumer Subscriptions and Developer API Subscriptions. We aim to be fair and transparent while protecting against abuse.
1. Premium Consumer Subscriptions
1.1 Lifetime Premium Subscriptions
30-Day Money-Back Guarantee
- Full refund available within 30 calendar days of purchase
- No questions asked during this period
- The 30-day guarantee applies to all Lifetime purchases regardless of promotional or discounted pricing
- Refund requests after 30 calendar days are evaluated case-by-case for documented service issues only
Upon Refund Processing:
- Premium status immediately revoked
- User downgraded to free tier
- Ad-free experience ends
- API access (if any) deactivated
- All API keys invalidated
1.2 Annual Premium Subscriptions
14-Day Full Refund Window
- Full refund available within 14 calendar days of purchase or renewal
- After 14 calendar days: Prorated refunds available based on unused time remaining
Prorated Refund Calculation:
- Refund Amount = (Original Price) × (Days Remaining / 365)
- Minimum refund: $5.00 (requests below this threshold may be denied)
48-Hour Grace Period for Accidental Renewals:
- If charged for an unwanted renewal, contact support within 48 hours
- Requires prior cancellation attempt or documented intent to cancel
1.3 Monthly Premium Subscriptions
14-Day Refund Window
- Full refund available within 14 calendar days of initial purchase only
- Renewal charges: No refunds for monthly renewals after the first month
- Exception: 48-hour grace period for accidental charges (requires immediate contact)
Post-14-Day Policy:
- No refunds after 14 calendar days
- Cancellation stops future charges
- Access continues until end of current billing period
1.4 Cancellation Process
- Self-service cancellation available in app settings
- Cancellation must be completed at least 24 hours before renewal date
- Upon cancellation:
- No future charges will occur
- Premium access continues until subscription end date
- Clear confirmation screen and email receipt provided
1.5 Ad-Free Only Subscriptions
14-Day Refund Window
- Full refund available within 14 calendar days of initial purchase only
- Renewal charges: No refunds for renewals after the first billing period
- Exception: 48-hour grace period for accidental charges (requires immediate contact)
Post-14-Day Policy:
- No refunds after 14 calendar days
- Cancellation stops future charges
- Ad-free access continues until end of current billing period
2. Developer API Subscriptions
2.1 Pay-As-You-Go (PAYG) API Subscriptions
No Refunds on Metered Usage
- API calls are billed after consumption and are non-refundable
- Users are responsible for monitoring their own usage
- Failed API calls due to our system errors are not billed
Account Credits for Service Issues:
- Documented downtime may qualify for usage credits
- Credits applied to future billing, not cash refunds
2.2 Fixed-Tier API Subscriptions (Starter, Professional, Business)
7-Day Money-Back Guarantee
- Full refund available within 7 calendar days of initial purchase
- Subject to usage cap: Refund denied if more than 500 API calls made OR more than 10% of monthly allocation consumed
Usage-Based Refund Restrictions:
- Refunds void if API usage exceeds fair use threshold during refund window
- This prevents “scrape and refund” abuse
After 7 Calendar Days:
- No automatic refunds
- Case-by-case review for documented technical issues only
- Issues must be reported to support with evidence
2.3 Enterprise API Subscriptions
Custom Terms
- Enterprise contracts include individually negotiated refund terms
- Contact your account manager for refund requests
- Standard policy: 14 calendar-day evaluation period with usage restrictions
2.4 API Key Invalidation on Refund
Upon any API subscription refund:
- All API keys immediately deactivated
- Rate limits revoked
- Access terminated within minutes of refund approval
3. Upgrade & Downgrade Policies
3.1 Upgrading Subscriptions
Monthly to Annual/Lifetime:
- Prorated credit applied toward upgrade price
- Credit = (Days Remaining in Month / 30) × Monthly Price
Annual to Lifetime:
- Prorated credit for unused annual time applied to lifetime purchase
- Credit = (Days Remaining / 365) × Annual Price
3.2 Downgrading Subscriptions
During Active Subscription:
- No prorated refund for downgrades
- Current tier benefits continue until end of billing period
- New tier activates at next renewal
4. Exceptions & Restrictions
4.1 No Refunds For
- Subscriptions terminated due to Terms of Service violations
- Accounts banned for fraud, abuse, or illegal activity
- API access revoked for policy violations
- Duplicate purchases (contact support to resolve)
- Promotional or discounted subscriptions (unless stated otherwise)
4.2 Fraud Prevention
We reserve the right to deny refunds if we detect:
- Multiple refund requests across accounts
- Patterns suggesting abuse of refund policy
- Excessive API usage followed by refund requests
- Account sharing or reselling attempts
4.3 Chargebacks
- Filing a chargeback instead of contacting support may result in account termination
- Users with chargeback history may be restricted from future purchases
- We maintain detailed transaction and usage logs for dispute resolution
- All API keys will be immediately invalidated upon chargeback filing
5. How to Request a Refund

- Refund requests reviewed within 3-5 business days
- Approved refunds processed within 5-10 business days
- Refunds credited to original payment method
5.3 App Store & Google Play Purchases
- In-app purchases made through Apple App Store or Google Play Store are subject to their respective refund policies
- Contact Apple or Google directly for these refunds
- We cannot process refunds for app store transactions directly
6. Service Level Commitment
6.1 Compensation for Downtime
If our service experiences significant downtime:
- Premium Users: Subscription extended by affected duration
- API Users: Credits issued for documented service interruptions
6.2 Feature Changes
- 30 days notice for minor feature changes
- 90 days notice for material changes affecting paid features
- Lifetime users offered reasonable accommodations if core features reduced
7. Policy Updates
This refund policy may be updated periodically. Material changes will be communicated via:
- Email notification to active subscribers
- In-app notification
- 30 days advance notice before changes take effect
